Editorial Squarespace Website for a Mental Health Counselor
Tony Lopez, LMHC
This website design for Tony Lopez, LMHC, is one of the customizations of our Bento Squarespace Template. Tony opted for template set-up services, and we customized the template with his branding preferences. The website balances the grounded authority required for a mental health professional with a modern, approachable aesthetic while taking a masculine and refined direction.
The design uses a sophisticated forest green and cream color palette. The dark green brings depth while still keeping the overall look calm and approachable. It is used for the website frame, text, content blocks, backgrounds, and in call-to-action (CTA) buttons to anchor the page. Unlike a harsh pure white, the cream background feels more inviting and human, reducing eye strain and creating a gentle atmosphere for visitors who may be in a stressed state of mind.
The layout leans heavily into the "Bento Box" and editorial styles. The wide margins and spacing between sections prevent the site from feeling cluttered, mirroring the mental clarity therapy aims to provide. The use of rounded corners on image containers and buttons (the pill shape) removes sharp edges from the user experience, fostering a sense of safety. Occasionally, images overlap colored background blocks. This adds a premium boutique feel that moves away from standard, boring medical templates.
For this website, we curated a collection of images that feel modern, warm, and friendly – while still masculine. The use of shadows, plants, and interior design shots (like the velvet emerald chairs) sells a "vibe" of a peaceful, physical office space, even through a screen. Tony's practice mostly consists of 1:1 online therapy and coaching, and images perfectly reflect it.
The Tony Lopez LMHC website demonstrates how minimalist editorial design can be applied to the healthcare niche. By ditching the traditional 'blue and clinical' look for a biophilic green palette and bold typography, the site positions the therapist as both a modern professional and a compassionate guide.
