Warm Squarespace Website for an Indianapolis Real Estate Agent
Home with Hollis Realty
Hollis May is a real estate agent and former middle school band director serving the Indianapolis area through United Real Estate Indianapolis. Their website was built using our Squarespace Template Perfectionist, and the result is one of the most personality-forward real estate sites you'll come across – warm, approachable, and memorable.
Most real estate websites default to navy, gray, and white, which makes them look safe, corporate, and forgettable. Hollis went in a completely different direction. The site pairs deep teal with a bold golden yellow and warm cream, creating a color story that feels simultaneously cheerful and grounded. The yellow shows up in the hero text, in CTA buttons, in section accents, in the "Fun Fact" callout panels — it's the throughline that ties every page together and gives the brand a vivid visual identity.
It's a brave palette for a traditionally conservative industry, and it works because it matches the person behind the business.
Hollis doesn't just present credentials – they present a character. The homepage intro describes them as "your friendly Indianapolis realtor and former middle school band director" who has "mastered patience, clear communication, and calm guidance" after 30 years of keeping rhythm through chaos. The music metaphor is charming and specific, and it tells potential clients something real about how Hollis operates. The About page further reveals the character and life of the real estate agent.
The Buyers and Sellers pages are both thorough without being overwhelming. Each one opens with an honest acknowledgment that buying or selling is "a huge step in life and can be emotional, exciting, and nerve-wracking" – before walking through a clear four-step journey in an alternating left-right layout that makes the process feel navigable rather than daunting.
Recommended lenders are listed with names and contact details rather than just logos, which is a small touch that signals genuine relationships rather than generic partnerships. The downloadable buyer's and seller's guides add further value and give visitors a reason to engage before they're ready to make a call.
The Resources page is a genuinely useful hub: downloadable guides, recommended lenders, a mortgage calculator link, and a preferred vendors accordion covering plumbing, electrical, landscaping, HVAC, and more. For a first-time buyer trying to understand what comes after the keys — or a homeowner preparing to sell – this page is a quiet differentiator. It shows Hollis is thinking about the whole journey, not just the transaction.
Personal photos of Hollis appear throughout – at home, outdoors, in a bow tie – alongside a modest mix of stock photography for section backgrounds and lifestyle imagery. The Instagram feed in the footer reinforces the personal brand further, pulling in real-life glimpses of Hollis's world. The result is a site that feels lived-in rather than produced.
Home with Hollis is a strong example of what happens when someone treats their real estate website less like a listings portal and more like an introduction. The Perfectionist template's bold, colorful structure gave Hollis the foundation to let their personality lead – and that personality is doing a lot of the selling.
