Optimistic Squarespace Website for a Hiring Coach

Carolyn is a Seattle-based hiring coach who helps job seekers and hiring managers feel more confident in interviews. She chose our Identity Squarespace template and went with our setup service to get everything just right from the start.
With her goals in mind, we created a custom moodboard and tailored the template to fit her brand. The result is a bold, high-energy Squarespace website that still feels professional –but without the “stiff” corporate vibe you often see in the hiring space.
On the homepage, we used a split-hero layout to place Carolyn within lifestyle imagery, making her feel both approachable and current. You’ll also notice small details, like text overlapping image edges, which help the site feel more custom and less locked into a standard grid.
The color palette does a lot of the heavy lifting here. A base of soft off-white and deep charcoal keeps things grounded, while lemon yellow adds a bright, optimistic edge without overwhelming the design.
Carolyn also needed a dedicated page for her upcoming book, The Self-Aware Interview, to build credibility and support sales. We adapted a layout from our Pop Culture and customized it to match the rest of the site. The goal with this page was to gently shift visitors from “this is a service” to “this is a voice you can trust.” At the top, a billboard-style layout highlights a 3D mockup of the book, while a subtle, oversized “CAROLYN ILLMAN” watermark in the background adds depth and reinforces her name as a brand.
